Hi, I'm Chris.

I've spent the last 25 years based out of Miami (South Beach) and NYC, but now I'm back home in Texas. I'm again living in the city where I spent my early teens, Boerne. I grew up with horses, pigs and playing in a rock band. Then it was on to cameras, lights and a darkroom in the bathroom. From there I taught myself Photoshop, Final Cut Pro, Logic Pro, WordPress, and how to build electric guitars.

I've always tried to push beyond just taking a picture, clicking the shutter was never enough. I wanted to create a new image, the image I saw in my head.

I grew up in Boerne, TX with horses, pigs and a goat named "Chulo". I played played in a rock band named "Asia" and no, not the Supergroup Asia! Moved to San Antonio and joined a few more bands playing metal to punk to 80’s new wave.

After a few photography courses at SAC (San Antonio College) in which I did quite well, I started my little photography business. For years I photographed models and actors in San Antonio, but I knew if I wanted to grow I would have to leave.

I moved to Dallas (I actually lived there twice, but many years apart), then to NYC.  Although I wanted to shoot fashion, my desire for creativity and experimentation (yeah, pre-Photoshop) pushed me to the edge of "acceptable". Several times people would say, “Your work should be in a gallery, not on a model’s comp card.” Hmm, I had to think about that one.  

A couple years later I came back to San Antonio to regroup. Then a move to the Sunshine State, SouthBeach, Miami where everyone is Beautiful, or at least they think they are. Unlike most photographers who came to South Beach just for the season, Sept. - March, I stayed all year round for several years. South Beach became home.  

While in South Beach I became proficient in Photoshop and went wild.  I was recruited to teach "Advanced Photoshop Techniques" at a very well known advertising school, Miami Ad School. As I got better I got more creative and pushed it again.  After hearing comments like “You should be in NYC” and “I think you’ve shot yourself out of Miami” I did it. I moved back to NYC.  I rented a loft apartment in Brooklyn that doubled as my photo studio and went to work.  After a few crazy years I ended up in Hoboken, NJ with a spectacular view of Manhattan from the large loft windows.  I shot that view to death, HA!  It was a great studio to work out of.

Eventually, this would lead to a move back to trees, grass and fresh air, Greenwich, CT. I took a break from photography and got back into my first love, music.  I started building electric guitars out of wood salvaged from our house remodel.  I love working with power tools to create stuff that can be held, and played. So different from a mouse and a computer screen.  I enjoyed experimenting with the electronics, different wirings could create such different sounds.  I started writing and recording songs using my homemade guitars, a Mac and Apple Logic X. Yes! No studio fees!

Through a series of somewhat unexpected events I’m now back in my (not so little anymore) home town, Boerne.  I have completely rebuilt my website. It now showcases a wider variety of work done throughout the years.  I've also added a few newer items such as “moving pictures” and animated GIFs. Lots more of those coming!

I now offer what I’ve learned through the years to my wonderful new clients in Texas, and beyond. I’m not a snob and don’t think what I do will change the course of man. But I do take my work seriously and I'm focused until the job has been delivered.  I always enjoy discussing the needs of a client and how I can help create branding identity.
